Ghostlight Readies Cast Album of Jason Robert Brown's 13 for Early Digital Release

Ghostlight Records is readying a digital release of the original Broadway cast album of the new Jason Robert Brown musical 13 for September 30. The album marks the rare instance in which a cast CD is recorded before performances of the show have begun; 13 begins previews at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on September 16 with opening set for October 5.

Produced by Jeffrey Lesser and Brown and executive produced by Ghostlight President Kurt Deutsch and Bill Rosenfield, the album will be available for purchase at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre shortly after its digital release. The CD marks Brown's third collaboration with Ghostlight, which also released the composer's solo album, Wearing Someone Else's Clothes and the cast recording of his off-Broadway musical The Last Five Years.

13 features music and lyrics by Brown, book by award-winning children's author Dan Elish and screenwriter Robert Horn, direction by Jeremy Sams, choreography by Christopher Gattelli and musical direction by Tom Kitt.

The cast album will be available in stores in time for the holiday season.
